Meet Glen
Glen is fighting to make Virginia affordable, vibrant, and safe.
Glen and his family are your neighbors in Alexandria and have lived here for a decade. His wife is a physician who works in Old Town and their child goes to Alexandria public schools.
Originally from Queens, New York, Glen is the son of a special education teacher and a small business owner. He came of age politically in the early 2000s after witnessing the 9/11 attacks (in person) and the Bush Administration's disastrous invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq. Starting as a volunteer, he became a national staff member of the largest coalition opposing the war, helping organize marches attended by hundreds of thousands.
He then earned a Ph.D. in sociology while gaining hands-on experience organizing communities and building coalitions. He established a track record of building working-class power: as a grad student involved in labor action at NYU, a grassroots leader in Bernie Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign, and a member of the Democratic Socialists of America.
Glen is a Jewish person of conscience and member of Jewish Voice for Peace. He knows that the ultimate lesson of the Holocaust is "never again means never again for anyone." Because of his conviction that our tax dollars should not be spent on Israel's genocide, Glen joined the founding Steering Committee of Alexandria for Palestinian Human Rights in November 2023. Together with his neighbors, Glen has advocated tirelessly for policies that invest in Virginia and divest from companies that are complicit in war crimes.
After grad school in 2015, Glen worked professionally as a data scientist, ultimately becoming a director at a Fortune 100 company. He developed a deep understanding of both the corporate world — including the hardships of mass layoffs — as well as the dangerous billionaire-class obsession with AI and data centers. He also gained extensive leadership and teamwork experience, getting things done under high pressure circumstances.
Glen understands the relationship between local hardships and state-level policy, and he is hyper-focused on putting government to work for all Virginians, not just the wealthy few.
